Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 12 ~ Issue 10

Abstract

Among various environmental pollutants, dyes have been reported to contaminate a large quantity of surface water. Rhodamine B, a widely applicable basic dye is known for its hazardous impact on environment. The present work proposes the production, characterization of activated carbon and its application for the removal of Rhodamine B from aqueous medium. The activated carbon was prepared from Sechium edule commonly known as chayote by chemical activation using nitric acid (HNO3) as an activating agent. The prepared activated carbon was used for the characterization of matter soluble in water, matter soluble in acid, conductivity, pH, apparent density, iodine number, determination of zero-point charge, determination of surface functional groups by Boehm's titration and proximate analysis which includes moisture content, volatile matter content, ash content and fixed carbon followed by the application for the removal of rhodamine B by preparing Stock solution and testing the concentration with the help of UV-VIS spectrophotometer.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 12 ~ Issue 10

Abstract

A fuzzy Inference System toolbox developed with MATLAB is used in this paper to analyze the performance of a heat exchanger. Firstly, an analysis of a heat exchanger is conducted using a model which represents the heat exchanger based on a process reaction curve obtained from a pilot plant. Secondly, this research then compares the control performance of PID (Proportional Integral and Derivative) and fuzzy logic controllers. A comparison of PID (Proportional Integral and Derivative) and fuzzy logic controllers are then conducted. These control performances are used to draw conclusions. In the end, fuzzy controllers perform similarly to PID controllers in terms of control performance but give a better response when compared to PID controllers..

Abstract

The yield ranged from 12.9 percent to 62.7 percent for ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts for four types of citrus peels (Mandarin, Aurantim, blood orange, and navel orange), with ethanol extracts yielding the highest yield of ethyl acetate. Naval peels yielded the maximum amount of extract, according to the results (62.7 percent). Moisture, ash, carotenoids, chlorophylls, proline, and sugar were discovered to be characteristics of orange peel. Different proportions were found in all cultivars of the peel, according to the findings. A single noticeable peak at 320nm was discovered in an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometric scan of the extract.

Abstract

Soil is the important and the largest carbon pools in the terrestrial forest ecosystems. Soil is a major source of organic carbon in a forest. Soil contains 4-5 times more organic carbon than all living things three to fourfold greater than plantation. The present study was conducted to estimate the soil organic carbon in the Kaptai National Park, Kaptai, Rangamati Hill Tracts district, Bangladesh. A systematic method was used to identify each sampling point through the Global Positioning System. The study was explored soil pH, soil organic carbon, bulk density and soil organic matter. Soil samples were collected from 0-15, 15-30, 30-45, 45-60, 60-75 and 75-90 cm depth for the estimation of the above parameters. Soil organic carbon (SOC) was determined by Walkley-Black method. Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 12 ~ Issue 10

Abstract

The materials that generate the greatest amount of waste worldwide are plastics, which cause negative effects on the environment because plastic is a polymer derived from petroleum. Plastics are non-renewable elements with high durability and no self-decomposition. For this reason, recycling is a strategy fundamental to the reuse of plastic waste. Currently, approximately one-third of urban solid waste in the main cities of Colombia is plastic. These have exponential growth every year. The purpose of this project is to realize an analysis of a virtual model for the classification and use of plastic waste with the data of a polypropylene recycling company, where the points or operational phases to determine.......
