India
Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 8 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

Human Resource practices can vary with the size of the company and are different between large and small businesses. The success of small businesses depends upon its human resource management practices. Overall mean is considered as a cut-off score to determine the status of formal adoption of human resource management (HRM) practices. Values above the overall mean is considered as formal adoption of HRM practices and values below the overall mean is considered as informal adoption of HRM practices. The study concluded that few small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have adopted formal recruitment and selection practices; training practices; performance appraisal practices; compensation and rewards practices; and welfare practices. Large size SMEs are more likely to adopt formal HRM practices indicating that as the size of SMEs increase, adoption of formal HRM practices also increase.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 8 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

Increasing the economy of the population and the region affects the dynamics and development of community activities and encourages the improvement of transportation infrastructure development in Gorontalo Province. GORR development is a road infrastructure that brings land function change, land value and indirectly affects the socioeconomic condition of society. The change of land value was analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis approach, aimed to find clarity as to the extent of its influence on land value change. The results showed that the largest land conversion function was productive land of mixed and wetland gardens, with an increase in values ranging from 3 to 4 times. The socioeconomic conditions of the community are improving and affecting the increase in Locally Tax Revenue (LTR) and the public are satisfied with the value of land acquisition for GORR development.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 9

Abstract

Purpose - Housing associations make too small a contribution to society, the government has to step in too frequently because of maladministration, and the associations' executives are often unaware of the far-reaching impact of their decisions. These are the conclusions of new academic research conducted by Jan Veuger of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). In his dissertation, he asserts that in numerous cases there is no correlation between social and financial objectives. The Dutch House of Representatives debated the results of the report Ver van huis from the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry on Housing Associations in early December 2014.

A Study on the Intensity of Vowels of Disyllabic Words in Sundanese
Maolin Wang
China
Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 9

Abstract

In this study, the effects of syllable position, syllable type and vowels on the intensity of disyllabic words in Sundanese are analyzed. It is shown from the result that, in Sundanese, for disyllabic words, the first syllable tends to be stressed, so the intensity values of vowels in the first syllable are larger than that in the second syllable. As the CVC syllable is phonologically heavier than the CV syllable, the intensity of CVC syllable is higher than that of the CV syllable. The intensity value of low vowel, /a/, is larger than that of high vowel /i/ and /u/, which is due to the fact that low vowels have a higher intrinsic intensity than high vowels.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 9

Abstract

Nanoparticles have attracted great attention in different fields as they show unique properties which can't be attained by conventional macroscopic materials. Low cost additives like nanoparticles play a vital role in modern lubricants. It improves the performance and life of machines by reducing frictional work, wear and prevents failure of its components. In the situations of high thermal loading and high heat flux nanofluids with stabilized nanoparticles emerge as a key for efficient heat transfer. Here a performance analysis was conducted on a hermetically sealed compressor in a domestic refrigeration system working with conventional POE oil lubricant. the POE oil is replaced by SUNISO3GS mineral oil. Nano lubricant samples of POE+ silver nanoparticles oil mixture, POE +tin nanoparticles oil mixture, POE +nickel nanoparticles oil mixtures SUNISO3GS+ silver nanoparticles oil mixture, SUNISO3GS............

How CREM strategies apply to primary school buildings
D. Kootstra, J. Veuger
India
Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 9

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate which theoretical elements of adding value with? real estate are applied in practice in accommodating primary education and in what way these are elements relevant to the stakeholders. A literature study of usual CREM strategies has been used to build a theoretical framework with regard to the value a building can create for different stakeholders. Interviews were then held with various professionally involved people in order to understand to what extent the general theory is taken into account with regard to "added value" for the stakeholders of primary school buildings. The data show that CREM theory also can be applied to the "not for profit" school buildings, but that not all potential possibilities to add value with real estate for primary education seem to be applied in practice.

Abstract

In this study, object tracking and object capturing application were realized according to the data obtained using image processing techniques and pid speed control was implemented to object catch. Image processing software and DC motor speed control program were programmed on the Raspberry pi 3 card in python language. The red and round properties of the object are defined to image processing and OpenCV library is used. The object tracking was realized and its position was determined with the result of filtering operations on image processing. According to the obtained position information, the object is caught by the robot.

Abstract

TToday's technology has been evolved into stand-alone systems which can do all necessary process by itself without any additional hardware. Advance microcontrollers have become microcomputers that is also known as single board computers. These systems take their power from powerful microcontrollers. These microcontrollers have many integrated circuits onboard so they can achieve many different process by themselves. They are being used in many applications from powerful industrial device to simple home appliance. On today's market, there are many different microcontrollers with different structure and capabilities. Therefore, understanding the concepts related to the microcontrollers is really important for choosing the best hardware. This paper presents main concepts of microcontrollers and reveals basis of their structure. Their components and abilities have been discussed and comparation of well-known single board computers has been given.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 9

Abstract

Cavitation can be a significant thread for hydraulic structures. This phenomenon occurs when vapor pressure drops below static pressure. Occurrence of the cavitation can cause cavitation erosion that can damage the parts of the pipes, turbines or pumps. In this study, pipeline system which will be constructed in a part of hydraulic works is investigated numerically using commercially available ANSYS Fluent software in terms of cavitation problem. By varying inlet boundary condition, the maximum velocity that cause cavitation not to occur and the velocity that cause cavitation just to occur is determined. Results of the numerical simulations are visualized. In addition, minimum static pressure and maximum velocity of the pipeline system are determined and compared with the vapor pressure. It is shown that for the given boundary conditions, cavitation does not take place. On the other hand, if the inlet velocity is increased to 5.7 m/s or further, cavitation can be observed depending on flow and structural conditions
