Abstract

This study focuses on Shanghai Port, utilizing multi-dimensional data from 2005 to 2024. It examines the impact of various factors on the port's container throughput from four perspectives: infrastructure, economic structure, port efficiency, and port development potential. A multiple linear regression model was constructed to predict Shanghai Port's container throughput. The results indicate that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the employed population significantly influence container throughput. After refinement, the model can accurately forecast future container throughput at Shanghai Port, providing a scientific basis for various development plans and decision-making processes.

Abstract

In this study, we aimed to explore the potential of marula seeds as a natural coagulant for treating raw water using the Jar test method. Our analysis, which included XRF, SEM, FTIR, and Proximate analysis, revealed some noteworthy findings. The cake produced during the process was found to have a significant composition of Al2O3 (17%) and SiO3 (13%). SEM analysis indicated an irregular structure, which is conducive to the adsorption process, aiding in the sedimentation of flocs. Furthermore, our FTIR analysis showed distinct peaks at 1033.88 cm-1 and 1458.23 cm-1, suggesting the presence of amines, alkenes, and hydroxyl groups........

Abstract

Phytophthora is a major pathogen that causes serious damage to tomato plants, resulting in reduced yields. The use of biopesticides as an environmentally friendly alternative continues to be developed, but improvements in their effectiveness are still needed. BSF maggot pupae (Hermetia illucens) are known to contain bioactive compounds that have the potential as antimicrobial agents. This study aims to characterize the bioactive compounds in a biopesticide formulation enriched with BSF maggot pupae extract and to evaluate their effectiveness and optimal concentration in inhibiting Phytophthora growth in vitro and in vivo. The experiment consisted of six treatments........

Abstract

Hydroponicproduction in tropical environments requires precise irrigationcontrolduetothe high variabilityoftemperature, humidity, and solar radiation. In warmandhumidregions, conventional time-basedirrigation systems often lead to over-irrigation, waterwaste, andunstable root-zone conditions........

Abstract

This paper is focused on the scientific and practical analysis of waterproofing systems for coastal areas in the Golem region of Albania. Waterproofing materials, through their interaction within the structure, constitute integrated waterproofing systems that play a key role in the design and construction of engineering works, particularly civil structures located in coastal environments where high moisture levels, chloride presence, wet-dry cycles, and hydrostatic pressure accelerate the degradation of primary construction materials such as concrete and reinforcement steel, including composite structural materials. The Golem area in Kavaje can........
