Abstract

The Nyctaginaceae family includes the climbing plant known as Bougainvillaea, or Bougainvillaea glabra, which is native to South America. Because of the colour of its bracts, which are often referred to as "flowers" and are composed of bracts, which are the striking parts, and the true flowers, which are small and white, the Bougainvillaea is widely acknowledged for its significance in horticulture. In traditional medicine, Bougainvillaea is commonly used to treat gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory conditions like bronchitis, asthma, and cough, as well as insecticidal and antibacterial properties. Information regarding the botanical description, ecological significance, phytochemistry, antimicrobial toxicology, and traditional uses of B. glabra are compiled in this review.

Abstract

This study aimed to carry out institutional facilities model in statistical approach to know if there is a significant relationship between the institutional facilities and students' performance in Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State. A descriptive survey research design was adopted by the study as questionnaire was administered to 1,200 students in the polytechnic, where 1,000 was retrieved back. The instrument for data collection was a structured 27-items statement questionnaire developed by the researchers after an extensive literature reviewed sectioned A & B with rating scales of Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Neutral (N), Disagree (D) and Strongly Disagree (SD) assigned the numerical values of 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1 respectively. With the test using chi square as the statistical tool, it was deduced that, the tested variables are not significant in educational performance.

Abstract

In line with population growth, technological developments and the increase of vehicles, the need for fuel is increased. Therefore, many people try to find an alternative fuel such as ethanol as an alternative fuel. This study aims to determine the effect of a mixture of gasoline and 95% ethanol on exhaust gas emissions and fuel consumption. In this study, gasoline was blended with alcohol ranging from 10% to 40% by volume (E0, E10, E20, E30 and E40). Next, the exhaust gas emission levels were observed using an exhaust gas analyzer. The results show that the lowest CO emissions occur with E20 fuel at 0.88% or a 9.28% reduction in CO emission levels when compared to the highest CO emissions of 0.97% when using E0 fuel. The lowest hydrocarbon or HC emissions were 532.00 ppm or a 33.61% reduction in HC emission levels using E40 fuel when compared to the highest HC emissions of 801.33 ppm when using E0 fuel. Fuel consumption also decreases with the addition of ethanol to the fuel.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 14 ~ Issue 6

Abstract

Greenhouse farming has become an increasingly popular method of crop production, offering greater control over environmental factors and the potential for higher yields. However, the management of these complex systems can be challenging, requiring real-time monitoring and precise adjustments to ensure optimal growing conditions. To address this, the design and implementation of a smart greenhouse system leverage cutting-edge technologies such as MongoDB for data storage, OutSystems for application development, and LoRa for wireless communication. The implementation results in improved resource efficiency, increased crop yields, and reduced labor costs. By combining the strengths of MongoDB, OutSystems, and LoRa, the smart greenhouse system demonstrates a robust, scalable, and cost-effective solution for modern agriculture.
