Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

This study presents optimization of quicklime (CaO) production from calcination of Yandev limestone. The limestone sample was collected from the blasted area of Yandev. X-ray Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to determine the chemical compositions of the uncalcined and calcined limestone samples. Isotherms and size analyses of the porous limestone samples were carried out. Quicklime (CaO) was produced from the Yandev limestone by calcination technique. Based on response surface methodology (RSM), central composite design (CCD) tool of Design Expert Software 11 was used to design the experiment. Temperature, particle size and time were the considered factors of the calcination process....

An Integrated Approach to Understanding the Performance of a Strong Water Drive Reservoir
Akpoturi Peters

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

The performance of a thirteen-year old water drive reservoir in Mobil Producing Nigeria Edop field, located offshore Nigeria in about bolt water depth was recently evaluated. Excessive water production had caused the shut-in of three producers from this reservoir. The evaluation process started from the building of a geocellular model through material balance analysis and reservoir simulation study. This integrated approach utilized information obtained from well logs, Repeat Formation Test (RFT), fluid PVT analyses and routine production data. The result of the evaluation indicates that recovery factor of over 60% is possible in the Edop BQI reservoir. Aquifer influx, rather than coning. was found to be mainly responsible for the excessive water production and eventual shut-in of some wells.......

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

The paper presents the implementation of the automatic water leveling system, which can be applied in related companies in food, chemical, and water treatment. The testing system includes standard equipment in industry such as a three-phase motor, ultrasonic level sensor, and Mitsubishi FX PLC controller. The water level in the tank, is balanced control based on the PID controller, which automatically detects the optimal parameters for the real system. Experimental results highlight that the system operates stably and accurately. Thus, the implemented water balance system has a hight applicability in the practice.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

This paper presents the optimal control problem of a nonlinear industrial robot manipulator in the absence of holonomic constraint force based on the point of view of adaptive dynamic programming. The Adaptive Dynamic Programming algorithm employs techniques to tune the actor-critic network simultaneously to approximate the control policy and cost function. The convergence of weight, as well as position tracking control problem, was considered by theoretical analysis..

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

Recently, the theory of Artificial Neural Network has found a worldwide approval from those who are concerned with the research in the field of petroleum and natural gas engineering this may be due to the neural network potentialities in solving problems to which the network is designed, depending on the gunned experiences of some similar problems joined with their solutions. This theory has been found to give high possibilities with amazing results as applied and tested in petroleum engineering. A model composed of two neural networks was designed to work in series in order to perform the task of EOR project selection through the first network (Technical network), and then evaluate the selected project economically using the second network (Economics network) As the model, with the two networks, performs its task successfully, it is....

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

XYZ has wells on platforms in water depths of 50 to 165 feet off the southern coast of Nigeria. The majority of wells drilled prior to 2000 were completed in 10-15 feet milled and underreamed windows which were gravel packed with 10/20 mesh sand behind 0.025" slotted liners. Many of these wells eventually had to be severely choked back or shut in due to excessive sand production. This paper review strategy to re-activate and/or Increase production from these shut in or restricted wells and to effectively complete new wells. It also details the techniques used to do this. The strategy essentially priorities walkovers according to.....
