Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

Two typical three and- five-storey reinforced concrete frame system buildings with.identical floor plan areas were selected in order to examine the earthquake effects with respect to the new Turkish Building Earthquake Code (TBEC-2018) The differences in the structural performance levels determined for the structural elements. The samples have analyzed with Idecad 10 software according to the Turkish Building Seismic Code and Turkish Standards 500. The two selected reinforced concrete framed structures have been dimensioned according to the design rules given in the relevant sections of the codes to ensure high ductility conditions for C30 concrete and of S420 reinforcement materials. The ground class has been selected as ZB. Earthquake ground motion level has been selected..........

Effectiveness of Thickness Variation on Deformations for Plate Bending Problems

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

The intention of this study is to extend analytical solutions of the discrete one-dimensional beam elements for solution of plate bending problems with respect to thickness variations. The solution can be stated as an extension of the so-called discrete parameter approach where the plate elements broken down into discrete sub-domains. The differences in the structural performance levels determined for the structural elements. The finite grid method was developed to determine deformation of rectangular thin plates subjected to external load, perpendicular direction to the plane, provides a great advantage considering the flexible boundary conditions and external loading.........

Credence Of A Novel Analytical Method Forthe Determination Of Stiffness Of Simply Supported Sandwich Plates With Corrugated Core By Experimentation

Nigeria
Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

The paper presents a laboratory confirmation of an analytical model for the analysis of sandwich plates with corrugated cores of different forms. The Flexural strength of the plate is determined as the ratio of maximum bending moment to the maximum deflection. The experimental result was compared to the results of an analytical method described in this work. In the analytical model a unit cell of the sandwich plate is used to obtain the required geometrical properties of the composite member. Though it could be applied for other support and loading system, a four point loading system with a simply support on two opposite sides is considered in the work. Steel plate was used as the face and core material. The cores considered are Triangular, Trapezoidal, sinusoidal and rectangular for the five sandwich plates tested in the laboratory. The results were comparable within 10% and the model which is a table method is recommended for use in sandwich plate problems.

Optimizing Measurement Methods for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Regulations to Slow Down COVID-19 Spread

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

COVID-19 has affected day to day life and slowed down the global economy. Most countries are locking their population and enforcing strict quarantine to control the spread of the havoc of this highly contagious disease. In this article, we propose a model of data analytics to help governmental decision support. Lockdown procedures are regularly reviewed by worldwide governments to enable a reasonable control over the outbreak increase. The model aims to find out the outbreak growth by measuring the exponential tilt angle for predicting any future spike before its occurrence. The prediction chooses small intervals of three to four days. This is essential to closely monitor the sudden outbreak. The model measures the infection stability or instability and enables an appropriate comparison between countries. The model measures any exponential or sigmoid growth of the infection rate.

Abstract

Depressive disorder or depression is a disease that affects thousands of people. In the acute phase of the disease, it is very common to be prescribed antidepressants of several classes, therefore the main classes were highlighted: 1) Selective Serotonin Recaption Inhibitors (SSRIs); 2) Tricyclic antidepressants. OBJECTIVE: To survey the most used classes of drugs. METHODS: We analyzed articles contained in Scielo, Pubmed, Google Academic and Ministry of Health websites. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: The psychopharmacology of depression has evolved a lot, increasing the number of drugs available in the market. Where the pharmacokinetics of substances can alter the bioavailability and adverse effects, becoming a preponderant factor for not adhering to therapy. CONCLUSION: Through the studies evaluated, it is concluded that despite the controversy, the class of selective serotonin inhibitors (SSRI) comprises the first line of choice in depressive treatment..

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

The paper deals with the development of experimental pressing equipment designed for complex experimental research of the influence of individual parameters on the quality of pressings and the energy demand of the compacting process, primary for particulate matter and high viscosity substances. Research and development of this design is based on the partial research results of particulate matter and powder densification. Designed construction equipped with rich accessories ensures research of the influence of all parameters on the overall process and the final production quality. Its modularity and sensor equipment allows to realize complex research whose output can be complex mathematical models of densification process allowing optimization of individual parameters. The presented case is demonstrated on biomass densification as a type of particulate matter.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 11 ~ Issue 1

Abstract

Student attendance is an integral part of performance assessment in many universities, however managing attendance becomes a problem when the population of students is large. Several approaches have been proposed but major constraint includes time taken in completing the attendance systems. Standard biometric approaches like fingerprint and iris require several devices including backup servers which are often expensive in terms of cost and management( Cheng etal, 2012, Jamilet al. 2017) AIM: The aim of this research is to develop and implement a model for monitoring and tracking attendance of students essentially in large classes using geofencing...........
