Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 14 ~ Issue 1
The correlated color temperature (CCT) values are intended by the lighting industry to give a general indication of the apparent "warmth" or "coolness" of the light emitted by a light source. For many lighting applications, in offices, hotels, galleries, the textile industry, etc., the correlated color temperature (CCT) is the most important factor governing the choice of appropriate light sources. The computation of the correlated color temperature (CCT) based on the given spectral power distribution (SPD) of a light source has a long history. The correlated color temperature of a source is normally determined either by a direct experimental method, such as red/blue ratio method, or graphically from the chromaticity coordinates...........

The paper has applied some research methods to preliminarily assess plastic waste in Vietnam and some negative impacts of plastic and microplastic pollution on human health, biological as well as socio-economic. Research results showed that plastic waste in Vietnam arises from many different sources; The total amount of plastic waste in Vietnam is 3.27 million tons/year, accounting for about 8-12% of household solid waste and about 5% of medical waste; The treatment and recycling of plastic waste is still limited, up to 90% of plastic waste is burned, buried or discharged into the environment, only about 10% of plastic waste is recycled. Microplastics from many sources penetrate the soil, water, and air environments, changing the composition and properties of natural environmental components, and are agents that absorb many environmental toxins, negatively affecting the normal development.....

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 14 ~ Issue 1
Abstract: For more than a century, forecasting models have been crucial in a variety of fields. Models can offer the most accurate forecasting outcomes if error terms are normally distributed. Finding out a good statistical model for time series predicting imports in Malaysia is the main target of this study. The decision made during this study mostly addresses Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL)' bound test model, and ARIMA model. The imports of Malaysia from the first quarter of 1991 to the first quarter of 2023 are employed in this study's quarterly time series data. The forecasting outcomes of the current study demonstrated that the ARIMA (1,1,1) model offered more probabilistic data, which improved forecasting the volume of Malaysia's imports. The (ARIMA) model and ARDL model in this study are linear models based on responses to Malaysia's imports. Future studies might compare the performance of nonlinear and linear models in forecasting.

The present work chooses blaze growth rate, specific extinction area, effective heat combustion, flammability index, and retardant characteristic factor (RCF) as the fire-hazard indices of insulation materials. The flame-retardant performances of common insulation materials are evaluated, and an analytic hierarchy process is utilized to obtain weights. The consistency ratio is shown to be less than 0.1, indicating that the eigenvector of the judgment matrix can be used as the weight of the five flame-retardant indices. Comprehensive risk indicators show that the extruded polystyrene plate has the largest combustion hazard, and the RCF of the materials is in the order of the modified phenolic composite < phenol formaldehyde resin < rubber-plastic laminate < extruded polystyrene plate..

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 14 ~ Issue 1
Class imbalance is one of the main problems in classification in machine learning. This problem is characterized by the existence of one class with a larger number of instances compared to the other classes. Approaches to dealing with this class imbalance include using sampling methods and cost sensitive learning methods. The sampling approach is specifically carried out in the majority class using the oversampling method in the minority class and in the majority class using the undersampling method. The cost sensitive approach is usually carried out by providing a larger training error penalty for the minority class. The main problem with the sampling method and cost sensitive learning method is the density problem where errors often occur in determining the minority class and majority class. This research will combine the application of sampling methods and cost sensitive.....

Collecting statistics of geological data and combining experimental survey data of soil and rock samples in the area of Thai Nguyen city. The author has studied the soil and rock layers and divided the foundation structure of Thai Nguyen city into three typical types for the convenience of the foundation designer, and as a basis for the design of the planning plan. Type I is composed of clay, upper phase clay and coarse to medium grained sand and gravel below. Type II is composed of siltstone, siliceous quartzite, siltstone, and siltstone. Type III includes shale interspersed with limestone. The Kriging interpolation results show that the interpolated thickness of the soil layers is quite consistent with the actual survey results. Therefore, the interpolation results can be used to design the foundation at a location without geological survey conditions.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 14 ~ Issue 1
In modern tall buildings, lateral loads induced by wind or earthquake are often resisted by a system of coupled shear walls. But when the building increases in height, the stiffness of the structure becomes more important and introduction of outrigger beams between the shear walls and external columns is often used to provide sufficient lateral stiffness to the structure. In the present paper an investigation has been performed to examine the behavior of various alternative 3D models using ETABS software. Results show that the outrigger changes the kinetic characteristic (oscillation periods decreased 30%), the optimum position of the outriggers is at mid height. The outrigger used as one of the structural system to effectively control the excessive drift displacements, shear force, bending moment and is connected with the column against the rotation of the core.

Using the geological data collected statistically and combining the actual experimental survey of soil and rock samples in the area. The authors tested the correlation functions used to predict the compression index Cc from e0, WL through the univariate regression analysis method available for geological data in Thai Nguyen. The results show that all four models predict that the Cc compression index has a very low correlation with the true value (less than 60%). At the same time, the authors conducted regression analysis for a dataset of 500 samples to find out the relationship between the compression index (Cc) and e0, WL and wn of the sticky soil in Thai Nguyen. They have proposed three functions to predict the compression index Cc with the correlation R2 between experimental data and forecast data both above 0.6.

Continuous glucose monitoring is crucial to enable tight control of blood glucose concentrations in diabetes patients and intensive care cases. One of the methods employed for glucose detection is using fiber optics. This research aims to measure glucose levels with varying concentrations using fiber optics. Glucose solutions were varied into 6 different concentrations, including 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The study's results indicate that as the concentration of the solution increases, the output intensity decreases. Higher sugar concentrations result in greater absorption of incident light, leading to a decrease in light intensity. Changes in the refractive index will alter the effective refractive index and reduce the output intensity. The study can serve as a valuable reference for future research endeavors aimed at further developing natural hydrogel optical fibers.
