Abstract

People in most countries around the world spend upward of 80 percent of their time indoors inside homes, apartment buildings, schools, and offices. With the threat of pandemic such as COVID-19 looming over every interaction, those indoor spaces (where the virus spreads more easily) can seem loaded with hidden threats. The pandemic may be the stressor that pushes many buildings to adopt healthy practices, and those benefits could linger long after the outbreak fades. One of the most important solutions is to limit number of people to be physically present in a building. This research presents the design of automatic mass gathering restriction door by using digital bidirectional visitor counter (DBVC). The DBVC is a reliable circuit that takes over the task of counting number of persons / visitors in the building (room) very accurately and denies access to people when the number of visitors exceeds the approved limit of the building.

Abstract

The use of electrical energy for vehicles is currently very relevant because its efficiency is relatively high and is environmentally friendly, due to, it does not emit exhaust gases emission. Indonesia has a huge potential to develop electric vehicles because there is a lot of nickel available to be processed into batteries. However, it is necessary to consider the level of energy use of the electric vehicle that will be made. How much does speed influence the use of electrical energy, or at what speed does an electric vehicle provide the greatest efficiency in energy use.....

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 13 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

Porous PVA microspheres were prepared to investigate their adsorption and release capacity of oxytetracycline (OTC) in simulated biological fluid (SBF). The highest adsorption capacity of OTC during 2hours was obtained at pH=4, being 0.9 mg g-1. The release profile of OTC in SBF from the microspheres showed a burst effect with a cumulative release of 29±4 % within the first thirty minutes due to the immediate release of the OTC adsorbed on the surface of the microspheres, followed by a slower release reaching 41±5% within two hours, which in terms of concentration is equivalent to 4.2 μg/mL, a value close to the minimum inhibitory concentration of pathogens susceptible to OTC in injectable administration methods of therapeutic doses from 10 mg/Kg for farm animals.

Abstract

The risk of work accidents is a condition that must be a concern for all parties to create a safe and comfortable work environment. To increase the productivity of a company, one important aspect that plays a role is Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). By implementing OHS, companies can minimize the rate of work accidents, so that the company can increase productivity. This study aims to analyze the level of work risk in Vespa workshop workers in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara. The research will be conducted during March 2023. The analysis process uses the HIRADC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Determining Control) Method. The results showed that there was 1 activity that had a high level of risk, namely the process of taking service equipment, which had the potential to scratch the workpiece. Based on this, an improvement proposal was given as a control, namely personal protective equipment in the form of work gloves and work clothes that have long sleeves.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 13 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

Loa Janan bituminous has a carbon content of 70,64%. It is a good candidate to isolate graphene oxide (GO) and convert it to reduce- graphene oxide (r-GO). Usually, the Staudeinmeir and Hummers method are applied to produce GO, but in this research the GO was produced using sonication under pH 4. Then the GO was converted to r-GO using citric acid (10%, 30%, 50%) and the reaction was accelerated using magnetic stirrer for the duration of 10, 30, 50 minutes. The best r-GO was chosen based on the lowest yield of it. It was gained at 10% of citric acid and 10 minutes contact time of stirring (95.70%). Fourier transform infra red characterization resulted of prominent peaks of trasmitance percentage for C-OH (68.12%), C-O-C (100%) and C=C (78,79%).........

Abstract

Human intelligence is quantified by the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), which is determined by taking a set of aptitude tests that cover many facets of intellectual functioning. The core of artificial intelligence is the development of intelligent machines that see, think, and act like people. When a computer or other machine exhibits intelligence, it means that it can do a certain task in an unpredictable environment, monitor its surroundings, and modify its behavior accordingly based on what it perceives to be necessary for intelligence. The library is seen by the general public as a trailblazer in the pursuit of innovation; from makerspaces to audio books, video collections, and databases, the library is perceived as a force for good.........

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 13 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

The primary objective of this research is to determine the yield of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) derived from graphene oxide (GO) through the application of ascorbic acid (AA) employing a mechanochemical approach (sonication+AA). The graphene oxide was extracted from bituminous coal in East Kalimantan through sonication treatment lasting 3 hours at a pH of 4. Subsequently, it underwent conversion to rGO by the addition of AA (10%, 20%, and 30%) and varying sonication durations of 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and 50 minutes. The optimal concentration of AA and sonication time were selected based on achieving the lowest yield of rGO. The optimal value was achieved at an AA concentration of 10% with a sonication time.........

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 13 ~ Issue 12

Abstract

Spectral mismatch arises when the spectral distribution of light from artificial light sources differs from a photometer's sensitivity curve, impacting how the photometer perceives emitted light. Various lamp types emit light with distinct spectral distributions, influencing the photometer's ability to measure light intensity across wavelengths based on the human eye's sensitivity V (λ). This discrepancy causes inaccuracies as the photometer might not detect all lamp wavelengths, leading to spectral mismatch. Chromaticity color coordinates for lamps are essential descriptors of artificial light. Represented on a chromaticity diagram these coordinates depict a lamp's color emission based on its spectral distribution.........
