Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 6

Abstract

Information and communication technologies (ICT) have affected all area in a society. Human can learn quickly and accurately from the internet. The aim of this study was to investigate what the problematic internet usage of ICT teachers. Therefore, the present study investigated the problematic internet usage, who worked as an ICT teacher in secondary schools in Turkey. The data collection tools of the study are "Personal Information Form" designed by the researcher, and Problematic Internet Usage Scale. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation test were used for the statistical analysis of the data. The sample group of this study comprised of 119 ICT teachers. At the end of the research, it was found that male ICT teachers received higher scores in problematic internet usage scale when compared to the female ICT teachers.
Participants who had been serving as an ICT teacher for six years and more received higher scores in problematic internet usage level when compared to the other groups.

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 6

Abstract

Deep drawing is one of the important sheet forming process used to make cup shaped components. In sheet metal forming, it is essential that the formed components are to be free from any defects such as undesired thinning, fracture, wrinkles or shape distortion etc. The die tryouts to achieve the defect free components will result in high cost of tooling and set up. Now a days numerical simulation is widely used to eliminate the costly trails. The accuracy of such simulations depends on the input parameters of the simulation. In this work, a parametric study was carriedout for the selection of appropriate input parameters for the finite element simulation such as material model, number of integration points and type of element that could ultimately lead to a reduction in lead time in the design of deep drawing process. The material considered for the study was Super duplex stainless steel sheet of grade (S32750). A commercially available finite element code Dynaform/Lsdyna was used in the simulation. The punch stem diameter, depth of drawing and the blank diameter were selected according to the benchmark specification given in Numisheet'2002.The results of experimentation and simulation were compared for the validity of simulation approach.

Abstract

Scientific computation aims to analyze and predict natural and engineered phenomena for human understanding. Specific quantification of physical variables requires annotations of physical units, either basic or derived. State-of-the-art computation uses the object-oriented programming (OOP) features using a number of processing cores. In translating scientific governing equations to computer programming, developers are still responsible to use and convert physical units to provide meaningful results. In this paper, we indicate some incoherency of SI units and propose possible ways to minimize unintended numerical errors. We use standard Fortran 90 as a programming language and discuss how physical units can be specified and checked during code compilations and executions.

Abstract

The objective of this paper was to investigate experimentally the effect of Evaporative-cooled condenser in a household refrigerator. The experiment was done using HCF134a as the refrigerant. The performance of the household refrigerator with air-cooled and Evaporative-cooled condenser was compared for different load conditions. The results indicate that the refrigerator performance had improved when evaporative-cooled condenser was used instead of air-cooled condenser on all load conditions. Evaporative-cooled condenser reduced the energy consumption when compared with the air-cooled condenser. There was also an enhancement in coefficient of performance (COP) when evaporative-cooled condenser was used instead of air-cooled condenser. The Evaporative cooled heat exchanger was designed and the system was modified by retrofitting it, instead of the conventional air-cooled condenser by making drop wise condensation using water and forced circulation over the condenser. From the experimental analysis it is observed that the COP of evaporative cooled system increased by 13.44% compared to that of air cooled system. So the overall efficiency and refrigerating effect is increased. In minimum constructional, maintenance and running cost, the system is much useful for domestic purpose. This study also revealed that combining a evaporative cooled system along with conventional water cooled system under the condition that the defrost water obtained from the freezer is used for drop wise condensation over condenser and water cooled condensation of the condenser at the bottom using remaining defrost water would reduce the power consumption, work done and hence further increase in refrigerating effect of the system. The study has shown that such a system is technically feasible and economically viable.

Abstract

Current research takes in to account of calorific value of various fuel (Diesel) available in the state of Telangana (India). The purpose of this experiment is to determine the heat of combustion for diesel and to learn basic bomb procedures. This experiment will be accomplished by using an adiabatic bomb calorimeter. The fuel sold by different company show different calorific value; by finding out the change in the calorific we can find out the high quality fuel available in the market. This research had covered the importance of calorific value of different fuel (diesel) with the help of a case study from Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology

Research Inventy: International Journal of Engineering & Science , Volume 7 ~ Issue 4

Abstract

Metamaterials are broadly defined as a material with properties not found in nature,i.e, a typically man made material especially designed to achieve certain unusual properties. First applications of metamaterials were in field of electromagnetic waves and some features of these materials were negative permeativity and negative refraction index. Due to similarity with electromagnetic waves, mechanical waves propagation through metamaterials began to be studied and the concept of elastic metamaterials was created. The main property of elastic metamaterial is the negative dynamic effective mass where the wave propagation is blocked. It will be discussed two kinds of unit cell that compound the elastic metamaterial and how some changes in parameters affect the metamaterial negative effective mass.
